A Safe Space to Find a New Perspective.

Emily Gustafson,LMFT, ATR
Psychotherapist/owner

I believe strongly in my clients' innate wisdom. I use a creative, encouraging approach through art and talk therapy to support clients to reconnect with
their truth to find healing.

You have full permission--and are encouraged--to show up just as you are with no prior art making experience necessary.  The art therapy process is one of non-judgement where no one is expected to be a "good" artist (whatever that means).
We use a variety of art media to allow what's going on inside of you (intensity, anxiety, anger, depression, overwhelm, trauma, or joy, hope, fear or excitement), to be expressed and processed through.  Sometimes art therapy is a place to find play, comfort, distraction or soothing.  Art Therapy supports integration, thus promoting healing, all through the creative process.
Art Therapy is utilized to treat a variety of mental health diagnosis and has a wonderful neuroscience evidence base.  It can be cognitive, sensory, metaphoric or anywhere in between.
Art therapy is a flexible, creative means of expression often without words as it follows our bodies innate wisdom.  But also know, if art making isn't for you, talk therapy is a common approach also utilized at Eagle's Nest Counseling.  Read more
